NEW SET THEORIST JOINS MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

We were fortunate to make another high quality appointment of a faculty member to begin in 2006.

Stefan Geschke joins us from Free University of Berlin where he received his master's degree and doctorate and where he has taught since 2001. Dr. Geschke has also been an instructor at the Kitami Institute of Technology in Kitami, Japan, a post doctoral fellow at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva, Israel, and an invited visitor at Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics in Budapest.

He works primarily in exploring connections of set theory and model theory with other areas of mathematics and will be joining our set theory group to work with Justin Moore. He will teach primarily pure mathematics.

We are confident that Stefan will continue our department tradition of high quality teaching in a scholarly environment and we welcome him to Idaho!
