Marjorie Avona (1925-26)

Contralto Marjorie Avona (real name Marjorie Cottle) joined the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Company as a chorus member in December 1925, filling in as Inez in The Gondoliers at times when the regular Inez (Aline Sinclair) went on as the Duchess of Plaza-Toro. With the start of the 1926-27 season in August, Miss Avona was singing only chorus parts, and in December 1926 she left the Company.
