THE D'OYLY
CARTE OPERA COMPANY
(Miss) Beaumont (1884-91)
A Miss Beaumont was a member of D'Oyly Carte's Savoy chorus
from the fall of 1884 (when she appeared as a bridesmaid in the revival of Trial by Jury) until 1891 (when she appeared in the chorus of The
Nautch Girl). Her first name is unknown and she never played a named
part. She may be the same Miss Beaumont who created the small part of Barbara, a country girl, in Stephens & Solomon's Claude Duval at London's Olympic Theatre (August-October 1881).
