THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Nancy Langtyre (1898, 1899) [Born Langley, Warwickshire c.1877] Nancy Langtyre appeared with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "E" on tour with a repertoire of four operas in 1898. Her named parts were Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard (January-December) and Amelia in The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein (June-December). The following year she toured for a time with Carte's Company "E," appearing between June and August 1899 as Pitti-Sing in The Mikado and Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen of the Guard. Her only known appearance on the London Stage was as an extra in a single matinee performance of Harlequinade at Drury Lane in May 1900. She also appeared in provincial productions, including the pantomime Cinderella. |
