Gilbert C. Robinson was a chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Repertory Company from December 1915 to June 1916, and again from September to January 1920.

Robinson later performed sporadically in London in operas and musicals:at the Old Vic (Carmen, 1920-21), the Adelphi (Love's Prisoner, 1925), Daly's (Lilac Time, 1928), Coliseum (Lilac Time, 1936). He also appeared in a number of legitimate plays in London between 1943 and 1947.
