Application Procedures
Applicants are required to have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in a mathematical science or
a closely related field
involving substantial course work in mathematics.
These conditions are necessary for admission to the program but do not
guarantee admission.
Priority will be given to applications received by February 1, 2008 but
all other applications will be considered.
To apply, follow the steps below:
- Apply to the
Graduate College
by filling out
the application, submitting GRE general test scores to Boise State
University (code R4018) and having official transcripts
from all institutions previously
attended sent to the Graduate Admissions Office.
All
applicants are strongly recommended to take the mathematics
subject test of the GRE. A copy of this score should be sent
along with the general GRE
test score.
- Complete the following, and submit each directly to the Mathematics Graduate Coordinator at the
address given below.
- Mathematics Graduate Cover Sheet
- A vita or resume .
- Three letters of
recommendation. At least two of them should be persons who know your academic work; if this is impossible because of your particular career path, please
include letters from people who know your abilities in other areas of endeavor and include an explanation.
- A one-page essay
indicating your career objectives, field of interest,
and if you would like teaching assistantship or research fellowship, discuss
why you would like to be considered and any special
qualifications you bring to these positions.
